Hi, I'm Emma.

Currently, I'm the Executive Editor of TravelAge West, a travel trade publication serving an audience of modern, business-savvy travel advisors (formerly known as travel agents).

I write and edit a wide range of travel content, manage social media campaigns, grow SEO for TravelAgeWest.com and develop and produce engaging web stories for a national audience of travel advisors and travel industry executives.
I'm also the host of the Humans of Travel podcast and a co-host of the Trade Secrets podcast (the latter is produced in conjunction with Travel Weekly), where I highlight the successes of exceptional individuals within the travel industry.

Outside of my role at TravelAge West, I am the author of "Am I OK?",
a weekly newsletter featuring travel hacks, veggie-packed recipes, and honest reflections on relationships, health, and life in your 30s.

I am a proud member of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA), and the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).

In 2024, I won Gold for Best Travel Podcast in the Eddie and Ozzie Awards, and placed as a finalist in the Jesse H. Neal Awards for my work on the Trade Secrets podcast, which I co-host with Jamie Biesiada, Senior Editor of Travel Weekly.

Also in 2024 I received a Gold award in the Pacific Region from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for the Humans of Travel podcast.

In 2023, a TravelAge West cover story I wrote on accessible travel received an honorable mention from SATW in the category of “Coverage of Diverse Communities.”

Other awards have included a Maggie Award in the Best Feature Article (Circulation under 50,000)/Trade for a cover story on the top travel milestones of the last 50 years, and a Bronze award in the Travel Trade category from NATJA for my piece on High-Risk Travel.

In 2020, my family and I summited Mount Kilimanjaro as part of a fundraiser for the travel industry nonprofit Tourism Cares (of which I am on the marketing committee). We ended up raising approximately $35,000 for the climb.
